Hey y’all! My name is Robyn from Add a Pinch and I am so thrilled to visit with y’all today. I was so excited when sweet Rachel asked me if I would participate in this year’s Holiday Bake, Craft & Sew Along! I love to give and receive handmade gifts and always love the creativity shared by this adorable group of ladies throughout the holiday season.
Rachel note: I’m now obsessed with Robyn’s measuring spoons.
When Rachel asked me, I first thought I’d share a recipe for a holiday bark, cookie, or my Pralines, but then I started thinking about how rushed I sometimes feel as I get closer and closer to the holidays.
I like to prepare handmade gifts as early as possible so I feel a bit ahead of the holiday push. What’s more, I also like to prepare gifts that can work for men or for women. And since my husband absolutely loves to smoke and grill meats, one handmade gift I like to mix up and give to family and friends is this Spicy Dry Rub.
It’s one of those gifts that you can go ahead and mix together now, store in an airtight container and have ready well before you even decorate your Christmas tree. And since it only takes a few minutes to assemble, you can keep the ingredients and spice containers on hand and quickly mix them up right before you walk out the door to a holiday party if need be. It works great for a last minute gift!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Spices :: Sugar, chili powder, paprika, cayenne, cumin, black pepper, sea salt, and brown sugar.
Tools :: Measuring cup, measuring spoons
Packaging :: airtight spice jars or tins and gift tag or label
Once you’ve gathered all of your spices, tools, and items for packaging, you’ll be ready to mix up the Spicy Dry Rub and assemble your gifts.
Here’s the recipe.
