There’s so much going on!
I hinted at a very special project in the last Happiness post, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share the project with y’all. My incredible husband was in charge of a Team Depot/Semper Fi foundation/Today Show project for a local veteran and our entire family was able to work on it together. Watching Nathan organizing this and pouring his heart and soul into this was inspiring and reminded me why I fell in love with him. He strives to make the world a better place and he never stops doing for others. Jae, the veteran, and his family are so sweet and humble and this was such a joy to be a part of. We try to teach our kids to be the change they want to see, to always spread joy, and to be the good; and I’m so grateful that we were able to do this together.

We’re headed to Dallas later today where Princess and her competitive cheer team are going to compete at NCA. I am so proud of these girls. This season has been full of highs and lows, frustrations and moments of pure joy, emotions have run high and low, there have been belly laughs and sobs, hundreds of hours logged in the gym, and so many changes, but throughout it all, they have supported each other, they have stood by each other, and they have become a family.
A team by chance, sisters by choice.
These girls challenge each other, stand by each other, push each other, and never give up on each other. Their love for each other is inspiring, and it runs deep, y’all. It’s borne of sweat, tears, hard work, trust, and is the kind of relationship that only a very small number of people will ever understand.
Throughout this past season, I’ve watched Princess grow not only as an athlete, but as a person, and I am genuinely in awe of her and her cheer sisters and our gym family. I can’t wait to watch them bring it all out on the NCA floor.
