It’s Thursday Thirteen #4 for me and #126 for them

I’m jumping on the proverbial New Year’s bandwagon and here are my 13 things I’m going to try to do/accomplish in 2008.

13. Diet Coke Only two of these per day. Shut up about aspertame and it being bad for you blah blah blah. I love them, I need them, I adore them. Do. Not. Mess. With. My. Diet. Cokes People.

12. Lots more of this per day!! I have access to the most amazing water thanks to our Rainsoft System so I don’t have to buy it, I just have to drink it! Gah! Why can’t I do it? Why do the Diet Cokes sing their siren song to me? *sigh*

11. Grow stronger in my personal walk with God.

10. Become a photoshop Goddess like NapWarden!. Thank you to my parents for the most wonderful Christmas gift!!!

9. Photobucket Spend more time with Monkey.

8.Photobucket Spend more mommy daughter time with Princess.

7. Write more. Not just blog stuff, actual personal writings. (shut up hubby, I don’t want to hear: “That’s why I bought you a laptop.”) Love you.

6. Photobucket Use these to lift certain areas of my anatomy back to their proper placement and help others to quit jiggling to my daughter’s eternal delight.
(hush mom, I know.. Payback is hell)

5. Spend more time with hubby. Remembering that we were a couple before we were parents. Making sure he knows how much I appreciate and love him.

4. Photobucket Acquire this
Thanks to Mama Geek at What Works For Us for helping me to find the camera that I now obsess , drool over , shall sit and patiently collect my pennies and dimes for.

3. Take some more me time.

2. Concentrate on my friendships with other mommies and women who share common interests. Friends are necessary and important.

1. Live a life my children will want to emulate. Do everything I can to be an example for all who see and meet me. Be a woman, wife, mother, person that my daughter will hope to be when she grows up and my son will strive to marry someone similar. I want to be a role model, an inspiration.

Motto for 2008: Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

  1. I love these! And I think its great that you added pics with each one! Visit it often, as the pictures will encourage you much more than the words themselves ever could! πŸ™‚

  2. Wish you a lot of courage to keep all these ! I also want to become a photoshop godess, lol ! I got it for Christmas.

  3. Good luck!!!

I’m addicted to Photoshop! I just got it for Christmas and now I can’t stop myself. Also, I’d LOVE to get the camera myself, but it’ll have to wait.

  4. Inspirational list my sweetie!
Love the lotto as well! I use to live by it and lost it somewhere along the way. I'll adopt it again starting today!

  5. Great list! BTW, I gave up the aspartame goodness a few years ago. I went cold turkey and it only took a week before the water tasted good and the diet coke tasted like crap.

  6. I love your list and hope you can achieve what you aim for. I would love to spend more time with my kids too but that would mean less time in front of the computer.

  7. What?!?? Did you see my stamps? I had photostamps made with that saying on them last month. Amazing. We’re like. here. on the same mind level.

I want photoshop. We bought my FIL that camera for Christmas. I’m hoping what goes around comes around. Like, my way, Mother’s Day. πŸ˜‰

    I like your goals.

  8. Great TT!

I’m now saving my pennies and Starbucks money for that camera too. It’s been on my wish list for way too long!

  9. Hey everyone! Thanks for your great comments!
Mommy, I didn’t see those. Call me stupid, what’s a photostamp?

  10. At leaset your weakness is Diet coke. Mine is real Coke (Coca Cola, that is!) lol

Great goals- I hope you accomplish them all!

  11. That is a great list. They are almost exactly all things I want to work on in 2008.
    Good luck and have fun!!!

  12. Lovely!

Good luck with the Diet Coke, I’m trying to break the coffee habit, or at least the 300 calorie coffee habit . . .

  13. Thanks!
I found it while searching quotes one random day. It isn’t attributed to any author and I searched for one.
It just touched me, because it’s the truth and something too many people don’t take the time to do!

Thank you to everyone who’s visited me continuously, new visitors and wonderful family who don’t know how to comment yet πŸ˜‰ SMOOCHES!!!

  14. Hi Rachel:

Love your list……and particularly that last one about being a role model.

What a fine lady you are!!!

Lots of love, and good health and happiness in 2008!

    Linda

  15. Great list! I love the pics too. And #6, would you be refering to the “Hello Helens” that wave back at ya?

  16. Those are all great goals – but that last one is wonderful! I got that same camera from hubby for Christmas – now I need to use it like Mama Geek. Take care – Kellan

  17. Those are all great goals – but that last one is wonderful! I got that same camera from hubby for Christmas – now I need to use it like Mama Geek. Take care – Kellan

  18. 1st- OH SOOO yummy that you listed the creators of 13 Thursday!! I thought it was a special club..I have too look into this more!!

2nd- Um instead of giving up Diet Coke.. try Coke Zero. YUMMY in a can!!! (I have no idea what is in it, but it made this non-soda drinker a crack addict soda drinker)

3rd- AAAAA to be a photoshop goddness..

4th- Good luck with the camera.

  19. Holy moly, you got Photoshop for Christmas! Good luck to you, may you learn it quickly and have a blast with it!

  20. Great ones Mama and look forward to seeing your expertise with Photoshop! Also, welcome to Posh Mama so happy to have you. We love Secret Agent Mama too! Much love, xoxo-pm

  21. Great goals especially learning Photosop, wish I knew that one…wait I need the program πŸ™‚
Great theme for this week, I have the same one.

  22. Great list, good luck with it all! I got that camera not too long ago and am having so much fun with it! LOVE IT! Of course there is loads to learn, maybe it would help if I actually looked at the manual…

  23. Love your blog! Thanks for finding me. I have to say (it might make you hate me a little) my husband is a Photoshop expert and web site designer and it would blow your mind on what he can do with that program!) Check out his website just for kicks… http://www.toddmcqueen.com. It’s almost a joke in our family that our Christmas cards are a compilation of 15 photos just to make sure everyone looks their best and everything is perfect! I came thiiiis close to putting 2 of my daughter in one of our cards just to make people look twice. ha ha.

  24. That is a very promising list. On a side note, have you tried the Diet Coke made with Splenda???? I adore that stuff. Sometimes its a little harder to find, but worth it oodles.

    Happy TT

  25. Ya.. not so much on the splenda front. ugh. Too sweet for me πŸ™‚ Just like the zero, which btw… just has less aspartame but then they throw in another artificial sweetener to mix it up. There are only about 3 differences between zero and diet LOL πŸ™‚

  26. Drinking more water was a resolution of mine last year. I did pretty good for the first few months but then I increased my coffee intake and slacked on the water. I’m hoping to improve my water intake permanently this year!

    Happy TT!

  27. Love that motto! I hope you get the camera girl. And man, I’m trying to cute the coke (diet that is) from my diet too. *le sigh*

    Great T13!

  28. I think those are great resolutions. And, save for the camera. Mama Geek actually got my hubby to buy it for me & it’s amazing!

  29. Best Wishes to you in reaching your goals this year. I hope you keep us posted. I need the motivation! πŸ™‚

  30. My Step Mom just got that camera. We got the Canon Rebel one step down from it earlier in the month. I love it!

Remember A LONG time ago when you tagged me for the Ipod shuffle? I didn’t forget about you! I finally got it done!
    Take a look

  31. 45 comments??? Wow..girl, you are awesome! Love the list…I can agree with you on so many of those points…I love the way you put the list together…with the pictures…you are too much! Also, just wanted to say…that was my idea for Thursday 13 as well….you just beat me too it…only because work was kicking me in the face!

  32. LOL Dixie! You’re too cute.
    Miss you!

Thank you to everyone who commented! I love your ideas, your thoughts and the bloggy love πŸ™‚
    Please come back soon!

  33. What a great list. I particularly like the very end…it’s about learning to dance in the rain. I’m going to post that up in my house somewhere! So, thanks for that! Great post.
    Happy New Year!

  34. Wow Rachel – those are some great ones – especially number one – it’s what we all want but you articulated it so well.

  35. I love people that have goals for themselves! I only have one questions: Where are you going to get all this extra time to spend with everyone? Do you have a magic princess wand? I so need to borrow it if you do!
