Did you know that you can make spaghetti sauce in your slow cooker?
Yep, you can, and this slow cooker turkey spaghetti sauce is perfect for back to school, new parents, sports parents… etc….
This is a basic, but delicious recipe, and includes some of my absolute favorite flavors – Tomatoes, Basil – Onions – Garlic
Combine with Cooked Turkey and a few dried herbs to simmer, all day long and make your house smell insanely, deliciously divine.
This is so easy. Simmer the onion in butter until they begin to soften, add in the ground turkey and when that’s almost done cooking – toss in some fresh chopped garlic – finish cooking and dump that into your slow cooker. Top that with tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaves and a couple of heaping teaspoons of oregano and basil
Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 6 hours or low for 10.

Notes
I cook about 1/2 a box of Whole Grain pasta noodles and we eat this for our main meal and then it gets portioned up (pasta and sauce) for lunches and leftovers.
I serve topped with fresh basil (chopped up) and fresh grated parmesan cheese.
I serve this over our favorite healthy, whole grain pasta noodles – some fresh basil and REAL parmesan cheese. ETA: yes, you can absolutely serve this with zoodles!!!
This was devoured by and enjoyed by Nathan, Monkey and Me — Monkey had 3 servings AND took some to school for lunch today. Princess is anti sauce (I know — a little piece of me cries every time she turns her nose up at sauces.) She had noodles tossed in olive oil with poppy seeds, fresh basil and parmesan cheese
This recipe is definitely going into our meal rotation – and since this makes an ENTIRE slow cooker full of sauce – I have some of the sauce in my freezer for easy meals later on!
Gotta love slow cooker red sauces. Yours looks delicious as always Rachel.
Thank you so much, Micha — you are SO sweet! <3
I’m a garlic fanatic and I applaud the use of the whole head of garlic!!

This spaghetti dish looks wonderful and made in the slow cooker is just too easy! Love meals like this!
PS My little sister would not eat sauces when she was younger either. Would only eat pasta with butter and parmesan cheese on it. She’s all grown up now and funny thing, she only eats pasta with sauces!
Paula – I’m glad to know there’s hope for my little picky stinkerbelle ๐ <3

Can’t believe I’m following Lisa! We made the same recipe — except, I used dehydrated tomatoes and my solar oven to get this yummy 3 ingredient sauce. Isn’t this a fun challenge! I’m #28. Come visit when you can.
I always keep jars of minced garlic in my fridge. So how much would equal a whole bulb? One clove is about 1/2 tsp. I’m trying to guess how many cloves are in a whole bulb. Any thoughts?
