The other night we were at a friend’s house relaxing when the back door flew open and Monkey came barreling into the room, his little face bright red and his eyes sparking with anger, tears and that wicked gleam that only appears when tattling on a sibling…
Following coolly and calmly on his heels, is Princess.
5 year old Monkey: “MOM, DAD!!!Β Princess just slapped me in the face”
Without missing a beat, Princess replies in a voice dripping with that special blend of exasperation and sarcasm that only a big sister can manage
8 year old Princess: “No I didn’t.Β I was just giving his face a High Five”
I can’t begin to tell you how hard it was for us to keep a straight face.Β The minute they were back outside, we were howling with laughter and wiping tears from our streaming eyes.
Best story ever. Oh, how I love kids!
Emily, my kids keep us rolling – they are scary brilliant. SCARY.
HAHA! That was some quick thinking! She’s going to be a lawyer or a marketer.
Hush your mouth!! π Her brain works way too fast. Just imagine her and Fury in the same room {shudder}
LOVE it.
Thanks, Marinka! I loved your Big Game post π
Your kids are awesome.
Why thank you, Ms. Karly π
Points for thinking on her feet!
She’s rackin’ up way too many points, Cyn π
I can so picture my daughter saying that! Too funny. I would have had a hard time holding back the laughter. My kids do things all of the time to each other then tattle on each other, the joys of sibling love.
Exactly! The interactions between siblings is fantastic and so so so much fun to be around for π
I love the honesty and sarcasm… Kids crack me up. I thank the Lord everday for moments like this one, that keep me laughing! You have an awesome family!
Me too, Audra. π Me, too! xo
HA! She has an awesome sense of humor!
Thanks, Jennifer. I imagine your family has some of these moments, too π
That was hilarious! I can imagine how hard it was to keep from busting up laughing! Nathan or monkey will tell that one at her wedding! -> our of arms reach of course!!
Thanks for the laugh.
Oh.My.Goodness. That’s EXACTLY what my son would have said. LOL
Sara, Let’s keep them far away from each other when they get older π
Classic – too funny!
Kristen, It’s like a laugh gallery around here π She’s full of *starcasm*
I love her.
and she loves you and often mentions her curly haired blonde friend daughter of my friend who she used to video chat on the computer with and when will we do that again, mom? all in one breath.
Love that story! Wow, she could have a great future in politics! π
hee hee π oh heaven help us.
I know all these other commentors have their opinions, and rightfully so, but I think she’s going to brow up to be a Bouncer.
Apparently I think she’s going to take a lean toward the Neanderthal – either that or I misspelled ‘grow’.
Okay, your first comment made me laugh out loud.. this one, made me snort! π
Love it. I was laughing so hard that I had to read this cute post to my husband so that he would not think that I was absolutely crazy. π
AWW π Thanks π That makes me so happy (also — cannot tell you how many ‘internet’ things I’ve had to read to my husband so he wouldn’t think I was crazy)
Not only is Princess adorably cute but she has a wit that is going to carry her far and get her out of a lot of tough spots!
what a wise guy LOL love it
I think Sabreena said this same thing to Shaun last week
