It is spring, though, and there are berries popping up everywhere and different apples ripening and coming into season; not to mention bathing suit season is coming up and people are looking to eat a bit lighter, but we still want flavor and satisfaction and enjoyment in what we eat, right?!

However, the reason for today’s post is my favorite homemade dressing in the world – the Savory Dijon Wine Vinaigrette
This is the most delicious dressing: it comes together in 5 minutes, and pairs brilliantly with just about every salad. It’s tangy and bright, with savory undertones which means it is a perfect complement for sweet berry salads, bold salads with strong flavors and meat, and even a traditional cobb salad.
This is a fruit dipping dressing, a veggie dipping dressing, a salad topping, finger licking, 5-minute dressing that beats most restaurant and store-bought dressings. (I say most because let’s be real, there are certain pairings that should be left alone – the blue cheese wedge, the traditional caesar…. fill in your favorite salad {….} )
I’ve been making this savory dijon wine vinaigrette for 6 or 7 years, and everyone I make it for immediately falls in love with it, even the adamant Ranch lovers, it’s that good, y’all.
I made it for a cheer event today, and when we were clearing everything away, I said to my friend, Tiffany, “you can keep the leftover vinaigrette” she looked at me and said, “I wasn’t planning on giving it back” 🙂 🙂 my response: “can I have my blue mason jar back, it’s my favorite”

Fair warning: have some sliced fruit next to you when you make this, because you have to taste it for Quality Control, and then you won’t be able to stop… trust me.
Savory Dijon Wine Vinaigrette
Ingredients
- 2/3 Cups Mayonnaise
- 1/4 Cups White Wine Vinegar
- 2 Tbsps Dijon Mustard
- 1 Tbsp Granulated White Sugar
- 1/2 Medium Shallot minced
- **Fresh Cracked Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mason jar, or dressing mixer, add all the ingredients and shake until combined. ** Add fresh cracked black pepper to taste
- Use within a couple of hours, or refrigerate
- Serve room temperature, or lightly chilled
I always include a salad in my meal because it is healthy. But can we mix match the ingredients? or replace it from one to another? Your post is helpful and nice.
