If you have been living under a blogging rock or in a cave somewhere then it’s possible you don’t know the fabulousness that is Kristen of Motherhood Uncensored, go on read her, you’ll thank me for it.

I’ll wait here for you.

Oh good, you came back.

Let’s talk about Kristen’s idea. Blogging the Recession
Here’s what she has to say:
‘The premise is simple. If you read blogs, then for the month of August, make the “pledge” to click through from your feed reader. No obligation to leave a hilarious comment or send a long stalkerish email (although both, within reason, are always lovely). Just click through to the blog (not on ads unless you are so led) and if you’re feeling generous, click around to their older posts.

Just those extra page views can make a big difference for bloggers who could really use the help, or in my case, where page views don’t matter so much, a big fat ego boost.’

So for the month of August, quit being just a FeedReader and help your fellow bloggers out, be a reader. Take that extra minute and click through and actually read their post live. See their pretty layouts, you don’t have to leave a witty comment but you know it would be appreciated. Click through their archives, or read their top 2, 5 or 10 posts. Be the difference, help your fellow bloggers and Blog The Recession.

I’m pledging to do it, won’t you?

  1. I’m leaving comments for everyone who commented on Kristen’s post. πŸ™‚ It’s the least I can do!

  2. I never read through feed even though I use Google reader…you are in my reader too! I love coming to the actual site and seeing each and every personality…I imagine you wrapped up in pink every day…it’s a good image.

  3. I never thought of it that way! I’ve always been a feeder! I’ll make more of an effort.

  4. This is great, truly! I usually do click through but now I’ll try to make a more conscious effort to.

  6. Clicked and always do. I just use my reader to let me know there are updates. I always go to the main source! I like the variety and spiciness of the blogs!

  7. great idea! thank goodness it’s what I usually do since I’m bad about changing my habits. πŸ˜‰

  8. I rock, cuz I always read live (what the heck is a feed reader anyway? LOL!! I’m obviously not entirely computer savvy)

  9. I have finally started putting all of the blogs I read on a feed reader! LOL But I tend to click through most of the time, but its a good idea to remember to do that.
