Do y’all remember when I told y’all how excited Monkey was to go on the “potty train”?

No?

Go refresh your memories.. I’ll wait.

The Potty Train(ing) has been a spectacular, dare I say, monumental failure. He has no desire to ride the potty train, none whatsoever.

sigh

We are still rockin’ the diapers.
opening diapers

Well the other day, he pulled a Ninja Monkey maneuver that entailed him getting his diaper off without first removing his shorts.
I’m tellin’ y’all he’s crafty. One day, I’m going to try to make toast and my garage door is going to start opening instead.

So while Nathan and I are sitting at the table eating, Monkey came up to us and said:
“I think I going poopy”
I told him to come back when he was done and I’d change his diaper.
He says to me:
I not wearing a diaper
WHOOPS!
I jump up from the table, rush him to the bathroom and plop him on the toilet.

While I’m chatting with him and telling him to “push the poopy out” he reaches down and starts pulling on his p-nis (ha ha..see how I cleverly thwart those google preverts) I’m talking taffy pulling kinds of pulling.. it hurt me to look at it.
I asked him what he was doing…

Dead serious look on his face:

“I pulling it to make the poopy come out”

That’s when I threw in the towel and went and got Nathan. Then, I sat down and I laughed until I cried.

  1. I totally don’t get the taffy pull! At what point does it just plain hurt? I’m trying to teach my 18 month old about the potty…we are hit and miss…he doesn’t say much yet, but if I say “potty” he runs to the potty seat…but I mostly think he likes to sit on it and hear it play music!

  2. That’s awesome! Evan pulls his too, and when I ask why, he says “because it hurts.” I don’t get it. Must be a guy thing. =)

      1. All I know is, they make life so interesting, and no I wouldn’t trade my little guy in for anyone else, not even a little princess. (Cuz there’s not room in my family for more than 1 princess… and that’s me… and sometimes Evan. It’s a complicated thing.) =)

  3. ok, first – that is hilarious. yay for dad stepping in.

second – why didn’t I think of that? THE POTTY TRAIN. Maybe if I can convince him THOMAS does it, he’ll want to do it. Hmmm, worth pondering.

  4. That was freaking HIL-ARRRIOUS! You could always do what we did with Scottie. and tell him another little boy named bill needs his diapers because his mommy and daddy can’t buy him any…we wrapped them, it was a big deal. He wore a pull up at night for a bit, but it was pretty smooth….SAM on the other hand…we will be in size 6 diapers soon…and i am scared! lol we did get a lightening potty seat the other day so he can at least practice sitting on the potty. the chairs were all to small for him…sigh

  5. I’m so telling Mr. Hot about this next time he complains about being constipated. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. I think I just found my rap name: P-nis. And I’m sure Nate told monkey that pulling it does nothing to get the poopy out, and that to get it out you have to crank it, like a Jack in the Box.
