This Oreo Peppermint Bark is the perfect gift to give (or hoard). Everyone loves peppermint bark this time of year – and this has Oreos inside. So, um, it’s like 1,000,000x better than regular peppermint bark. And bark is so easy to make – it literally takes 10 minutes start to finish.

This bark is actually the brainchild of my daughter, Jordan. She’s 8 going on 16. She doesn’t get in the mood to bake with me all that often, so when she comes and says “Mom, I want to make something,” I drop what I’m doing and go running! That’s how this Oreo Peppermint Bark was born – she loves mint. She wanted something she could make that we could “test” and then she could make it again for our annual Christmas Eve party at her aunt’s house.

So yeah, an 8-year-old made this. That’s how easy it is! Just two kinds of chocolate chips, Oreos, and candy canes. Easy-peasy!

This bark would be a perfect gift for your kids to make for their teachers. Or you can make it for you. And hide with it in the closet. (Not that I’ve ever done that or anything…)

Oreo Peppermint Bark

This 4 ingredient, delicious oreo peppermint bark is the perfect holiday treat, and it's so easy to make that the kids can do most of the work, and you can sit back and enjoy!

Total Time:10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 mini candy canes crushed (about 1/2 cup)
  • 12 Oreos chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
  • Add milk chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Pour onto prepared cookie sheet and spread flat. Sprinkle with chopped Oreos. Chill for 10 minutes.
  • Add white chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl and heat on 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. (I use 50% power for white chocolate because it’s so temperamental!) Pour over Oreos and spread to the edges of the milk chocolate. Sprinkle with chopped candy canes. Chill until set, break into pieces and serve or package to give!

      Here’s Dorothy’s response:

      Any standard size cookie sheet is fine, I think mine are a bit larger than a 10×15 size. A 10×15 size would work as well. You can make your chocolate rectangle as big or as small as you want, depending on how thick you make it.

  2. Hello. Thanks so much for sharing tbis recipe !!!! I believe you’ve made my year !!! I’ve got a quick question: we don’t like dark cho locate. We just like the white chocolate. So how do I alter the recipe? Do I just omit it? Or double something? Thank you for your time !!! Merry Christmas !

  3. I made this for my (men) customers last year & they all flipped! I thought it would be a one-time treat but everyone STILL talks about it so it looks like I’ll be making this again this year…thanks for the great recipe! The oreos add a little something unexpected.

    1. I’m sorry it’s a old treat but I’m not from the USA. You write oreos? What kind of just a brown filling in the middle or a special kind… You break the cookies and than just put them on the chocolate correct?

    1. Hi! I made the bark, but when I broke it into pieces the chocolate completely broke off from the bottom. Do you know how I could prevent this from happening? Thank you!

      1. oh no! I’m so sorry, I know that’s frustrating! Did you allow it to completely harden? I haven’t had that happen before, but maybe one of the ingredients was off??? I’ll see if I can figure it out.
