Yes, you’ve read that right, Hobby Lobby has done it again. They are re-inventing spelling for the 21st century. Now I know y’all remember our I before E lesson courtesy of Hobby Lobby back in December… No? Well hurry up and check it out, I’ll wait right here.
Oh good, there you are. Enjoy the spelling lesson?
I know you’re ready for another one and they were kind enough to provide us with one.

I was browsing the haven that is Hobby Lobby the other day looking at metal crosses and other darling accessories for my house when I saw these precious little magnets with fun sayings on them.
I thought they were super cute, plus they were 50% off so I mean… how could I pass them up? I grabbed a couple when this one caught my eye.
Take a trip back to childhood with me and let’s play a picture game, sort of like the ones we used to play in those Highlights magazines… Let’s call it:

Can you find what’s wrong with this picture?

Did you figure it out? If not, here’s an illustrated version for you.

Correct Spelling: Until
Incorrect Spelling: Untill

Come on Hobby Lobby let’s get it together shall we? Either provide your manufacturers in Taiwan with Spell Checking abilities, or employ some people in the ordering and receiving departments with Spell Check please. This is just getting a tad bit ridiculous.
Now y’all know how I am with spelling and grammar so you just know that I bought one to put up on my fridge.
I may keep a tally to see how many people notice it. 🙂

We’re off to a nephew’s birthday party out of town in a few and they *gasp* don’t have internet access so my Weekly Winner’s will be posted late tomorrow. But don’t let that stop you. Go over there and wish the fantabulous Lotus congratulations on her new pregnancy and then check out all of the other fabulous moments that were captured on film in the last week.

  1. I thought you were going to say the sentence didn’t make sense because the king is in charge not the queen. The spellling seems fine to me. 😉

  2. Hi, I just wandered into your blog while browsing and I wonder how many people bought those without realizing they were mis-spelled. Too funny.

  3. That would drive me batty! We were at a festival this weekend and someone had a sign showing the prices of their “DEMIN bags.” Not denim, but DEMIN.
    WTH???

  4. This is seriously funny. A magnet? Like a hundred people didn’t see that before and AFTER it went on the shelf.

  5. THAT is funny! I think I would have caught it too, I am a stickler for good spelling…shame on Hobby Lobby!

  6. What is wrong with Hobby Lobby? I need to start paying closer attention to those things when I shop there.

Hope your little trip and party was fun!

  7. And here I thought that you were going to say that along with the spelling error on ‘until’, ‘Queen’ should be spelled with a ‘W’…or is that just me???

    Lurving you and missing you!!

  8. That’s funny. I totally would have bought one too just so that I could see who noticed. Great minds think alike!

  9. I’ve seen a couple of handpainted signs in Hobby Lobby misspelled, too! How funny!

Hope you’re having a great trip!
    Hugs!

  10. That drives me up the wall…
I’m especially bothered when I find spelling errors in BOOKS…
    MOST especially TEXT books.
(well really, I get a little thrill out of it) I would have bought one, too!
    Peace, EJT

  11. Funny how the mind sometimes reads it the correct way anyway… I read right over it. LOL!! I guess that’s a big OOPS for that place.

  12. Spelling errors aside – That is one of the truest saying I’ve heard in a long time. I think every man should be given that magnet (with corrected spelling, of course) on his wedding day so that there is no confusion going into the marriage! LOL!
