Welcome back, y’all!  It’s the first Mouthwatering Monday of 2014!!!

Can y’all believe that it’s 2014 already?

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had Mouthwatering Mondays, and I blame the holidays.. and the flu… and the holidays.

Although I must tell y’all – taking a break is lovely.

Thanks to all of y’all who’ve stuck around.

To kick off the mouthwatering fun and 2014, I’m sharing some of my family’s favorite recipes {next week I’ll be sharing some of our favorite recipes from this week’s link up}

This Southern Ham, Cheese, and Hashbrown Breakfast Casserole is a family favorite, and every time I serve it I get asked for the recipe {or how much I charge per 9X13}

When I’m craving a delicious salad – this Savory Dijon White Wine Vinaigrette with a bonus spinach fruit salad recipe is the one that I turn to. My SIL who avidly dislikes salads and dressing – ate two servings of this salad at Thanksgiving and requested the recipe so she could make it at home. WIN!

This is my go to recipe. I make this Roasted Chicken in the Slow Cooker at least twice a month. I use it for everything from soups to enchiladas, to salads, sandwiches, snacks and more. It’s quite simply the easiest and most delicious (whole) chicken I’ve ever made.

Remember when you used to buy those snap crackly flavor infused bags of roasted corn kernels? These are just like those, except better because they’re healthy and made at home, and they’re chickpeas instead of corn. My extremely picky kids ask me to make these Crispy Oven Roasted Chickpeas at least once a week.

  1. For 2014 my goal is to make every recipe in Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food.

    It’s a great book with very, very tasty meals which are affordable and easy to make.

    I review the book on my blog. 🙂

  2. Oooo those look so good. I love making roasted chickpeas and do various flavors of them all the time, but the hashbrown casserole? I’m not a big casserole person, but THAT would be my exception. Yum. Glad you’re feeling better!

  3. Of all the pictures in your post the salad is the one that is grabbing my attention. I think it’s this time of year with all the gray and dull and tres $%^#ing Cold that makes me gravitate to the fruit and veggies so yummy looking. I’ve been slacking on the cooking here this week a lot of ready made crap

  4. OMG this look delicious! All the desserts have been my favourite this year..and I wonder why I still have this muffin top..lol. Can you tell I am a chocolate addict? The Ultimate Chocolate Lovers Chocolate Chip Cookies was a hit in my house

    1. Gaby – it’s one of my true absolute indulgences — it’s savory- crunchy – and total southern comfort food. You need to get down here to my corner of Texas and I’ll make you a heapin’ batch of these and we’ll whip up some jalapeno cheese grits to go with our mimosas and chicken fried chicken and gravy. Then we’ll go boot shopping and go to Whataburger 🙂 xoo you
