This week has been a flurry of Valentine’s related activities – cookie baking, Class Valentine’s decorating and putting together, class party supply buying and party planning and watching Monkey prepare and write his first ever class Valentine’s all by himself.

{swoon}

As the kids were prepping their class Valentine’s, my mind was going over all the things that I want to write in their cards and in Nathan’s

All the ways that I want to tell them that I love them and what I love about them – all that got me thinking about Love and what Love means to me.

Love is the twitterpated feeling in my heart when Nathan kisses me.

It’s the way my heart skips a beat at the light and joy in my children’s eyes when they’re happy.

Love is holding a loved one’s hand while they breathe their last.

It’s making Nathan’s favorite food for him after a long day.

Love is setting it all aside to curl up in bed with my kids to read them a book, or listen to them as they read to each other.

Love is the laughter, the tears, the joy, the chaos, the mess, the wonder, the beauty, the life.

Love is all of that and so much more.

Love is not being able to imagine my life without them…

Love is the lightness in my soul, the pitter patter of my heart, the smile on my face and the light in my eyes when I hold them, see them, think of them.

What is love to you?

Thank you, Hallmark, for choosing me to be their Valentine’s “Life Is A Special Occasion”  blogger for  2013.  It’s an honor and joy to work with y’all again and to share my life with y’all every day.

  1. Love is the big smile I get when I walk into my kids’ classroom. Love is daddy and the kids doing the dishes while I’m gone. Love is “hi, mama” as he walks in the door. 🙂

  2. Love is the excitement that I feel when I hear her car door close after she’s been gone at work all day, and the dog and I race to the front door to be the first to greet her.

It’s the grin on my face at getting to see her face first thing in the morning.

It’s the way I still get butterflies just at the thought of the fact that I get to be with her for the rest of my life.

It’s wanting to do things simply because I know that they’ll put a smile on her face.

It’s what our family showed me every day growing up, and continues to show me every time I speak to or see them.

Talk to me!
