Need a quick and easy snack for kids? Something portable, small hands friendly, and something that you feel good about giving to your kids?
These fruit kabobs are one of my kids’ very favorite summer snacks.
The great thing is these are also super lunchbox portable, too!
Whatever your family’s favorite fruits are, those are the ones to use. There is absolutely no rule to these, except make sure the fruits are big enough for whatever skewer you’re using. Because I don’t think my kids need to be given weapons to eat with (hello pointed wood or metal skewers!)
For our kabobs we use swizzle sticks, coffee stirrer straws and cute party picks that we find at Target, or like these plastic party picks on Amazon.
There’s no specific recipe for these, just grab your family’s favorite fruits, cut them (if necessary) and put them on the skewers in whichever order you please.
If your kids are learning about patterns – this is a great way to practice patterning:
A – B
AA- B
A – B – C
etc….
That fruit kebab looks delicious!
Now I need fruit…yummy! Except Izzy would probably think it was a sword!

Using little straws is a much better idea than those wooden spears. I just know my boys would turn them into weapons. 😉
