I was inspired by the sermon at my Granny’s church a few months ago. The sermon was on Philippians 4:6-7 about God commanding us not to worry. While sitting there listening to the preacher this appeared in my heart and I was compelled to write it down.

Take my life
Guide my hands
Lead my heart
Hear my prayers
Tame my fears
I lift to you my life
I give to you my hands
use me for your will
let me be your light

  1. That’s a wonderful poem. I especially like “Tame my fears”

    Sometimes the best we can hope for is the taming of our fears. Unfortunately it is our nature to worry about something.

    Thank you for the post.

  2. Absolutely beautiful.

    And unfortunately, we are going to tackle the dreaded mall tomorrow. Coach actually wants to go Christmas shopping with me, and tomorrow is the only day we’ll both be able to go before Christmas.

    Ugh. The mall. On a Saturday when those *shudder* teenagers are there. The week before Christmas.

    If I haven’t checked back in before Monday, could you send the SWAT team to Arizona? 😉

  3. Thank you ladies.
    TSM~ I have the SWAT team on speed dial ready to send out into the fray for you. I believe their weakness is teenagers in shopping malls, but they’re ready anyways. 🙂
