Green Eggs and Ham

A favorite book from childhood and the perfect dish for St Patrick’s Day.

I do not like Green Eggs and Ham, I do not like them Sam I Am” ~ Dr Seuss

Trust me, get your kids involved in making this dish and they’ll not only have fun in the kitchen with you; they’ll devour this protein packed dish and ask when they can help you cook again.

Rachel’s Note: This was one of my first attempts at vlogging last year.. be kind.

How To Make Green Eggs and Ham

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 slice of thick cut ham
  • green food coloring
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  1. Melt butter in a skillet.
  2. Add ham slice to butter and cook until brown and sizzling and delicious.
  3. While the ham is cooking, crack eggs and whisk with enough food coloring to turn the eggs into your favorite Green Eggs and Ham, remove the ham from the skillet and replace with eggs.
  4. Cook about 4 minutes and serve.

  1. :)…I remember this from before. And considering I’m STILL too skeered to try a vlog, your first submission is bettah than my none-existent one!!

My pastor used to make this; but I’ve never tried. Thinkin’ St. Paddy’s Day meets Dr. Seuss…maybe I SHOULD give it a whirl!!

Lookin’ forward to trying some new stuff from the Mouthwaterin’ Monday crew.

    1. Hello darlin’ girl!

These are soo yummy!!!! I add spinach and green onions to mine and Nathan’s but the kids like it just simple with salt and pepper.

So glad to see you back on the MWM xoxoxo

  2. I could never do a video. Then you would see how “crazy” I am in the kitchen. By keeping it to words you don’t see my chaos, lol!

  3. I made a version of this last night…but didn’t use the food coloring because of kid allergies. I was amazed how GREEN eggs could get from spinach and green onion! Even my pickiest eater wolfed it down. Hope you are well, KS!

    1. I do spinach and green onions when I make them for my hubby and me 🙂 I can add spinach to the kids’ eggs and they love it, too. The food coloring gives it a big oomph for the photos and videos and they do love the dumping swirls of color 😉

  4. I was impressed with Princess’ egg cracking and I admired you as a mom when she was shaking her eggy hands afterward and you weren’t having a little fit like I would have been over Raw Egg On Hands — Aghh!
