Hi Southern Fairytale readers! I’m Katie, a home cook, food blogger, and recipe developer. I author the blog Katie’s Cucina. Katie’s Cucina is a place where I share my love for food — developing and cooking mouthwatering recipes weekly, baking indulgent desserts, and sharing foodie travels from coast to coast.
I’m excited to be participating in the holiday bake, craft & sew for the first time this year. I also have a DIY blog (Sew Woodsy) and am contributing over at the craft portion today as well, so make sure you stop by Kelly’s after reading about my Hello Dolly Bars.
Hello Dolly Bars… Seven Layer Bars… whatever you want to call them–they are great and perfect for sending over to the neighbors house during the holidays. I always bake for my neighbors, coworkers, family, and friends each year. And almost every year I bake a few batches of Hello Dolly Bars. They are simple to put together and who doesn’t love a cookie bar packed full of all things sweet?
My recipe for Hello Dolly Bars are easy to make–even the kids can help out! That’s what is great about this recipe. And if you see an item in the list that you don’t like–feel free to sub it for something else. I like to put a combination of nuts in the bars. I also enjoy both chocolate and butterscotch chips in the bars. But if you don’t have it on hand or you simply don’t like it–feel free to keep it out of the mix. I love making mixes to give to family and friends for these bars. I simply place each layer in individual bags and then neatly place them in a mason jar. Tie it up with the instructions and give as a gift (and maybe accompany a few of the baked bars with it as well)!
Thank you again Rachel for having me today!
