This poem, by author unknown was featured on my Dee’s ‘Celebration of Life’ pamphlet at his memorial service.
It is so powerful and so beautiful, I wanted to share it with all of you.

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered “Come to Me”.

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

I searched for the author of this and found several versions of this poem and all are attributed to author unknown.
I found this to be so powerful and perfect.
Many Blessings and Love from me to you.

  1. That is lovely Rachel. I just printed it out for a reminder when I’m missing those I’ve lost.

  2. Beautiful.
    We don’t grieve
    for those we’ve lost.
    We grieve for ourselves,
    having lost them.

  3. I wish that I had found that poem when my mother-in-law passed away…Thanks for sharing it.

  4. Also, thanks for stopping by my blog…

I will be sure to let you know what “all girl school on a deserted island with no boys” my boy crazy 4-year old ends up at!

As for the camo swimsuit that my niece is wearing…that little treasure was found at Dillards. They also have some black, white, and pick ones that have the Jolly Roger with a Bow.

  5. We have lost one senior member of our family every year for the past 4 years. It is hard to read that poem without tearing up. Thanks for sharing it.
