‘Tis the season for all things candy cane and this soft serve candy cane ice cream is delicious, delightful, and ready in 15 minutes!
A couple months ago, Ice Cream Depot sent me one of their Ice Cream Depot and we’ve had SO MUCH FUN playing with it! Whenever we cruise, one of the kids favorite spots..okay, Nathan’s too, is the soft serve machine; I’m fairly certain that the 3 of them consume their body weight in soft serve ice cream over the course of each cruise :-). When the kids saw the soft serve machine, they kind of lost their minds and it was immediately put to a test use with one of their packages of Chocolate Soft Serve, and 15 minutes later, everyone had an ice cream cone full of rich, delicious, creamy soft serve ice cream!!!
I officially became the coolest mom on the block, and when the adults found out that it makes frozen margaritas, too – YES IT DOES!!! Well, let’s just say the party planning began.
We’ve made dark chocolate covered cherry amaretto ice cream using their chocolate soft serve base and it is absolutely incredible! I’m trying to work a homemade chocolate base that will work with the machine so we can have this whenever we want.
For the holidays, they asked me to create a recipe to highlight their Automatic Home Soft Serve Machine, I asked the kids what flavors reminded them of Christmas and both kids immediately shouted candy canes! So, candy canes it is!
Ice cream Depot has a delicious basic vanilla soft serve ice cream recipe on their site that works perfectly with their machine, but I had some of their vanilla soft serve mix, so I mixed it up and then added 3 crushed candy canes to that
I poured that mixture into the soft serve machine, set the time for 13 minutes, and WOWZA!
The crushed candy canes add a delicious peppermint flavor to the ice cream, and turns it the most beautiful shade of pink; top that with some more crushed candy canes and this is a seriously delightful and wintery treat.
Did I mention you can make margaritas, as well as soft serve? and smoothies! and sangria! AND they have a boozy dole whip recipe, too! We’re going to be heading to Disney for the first time ever in May and I can’t wait to try one! If you’re a big entertainer, love having soft serve on hand – I recommend checking out their soft serve machine They’re having a sale on them right now!
