Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
Hello! This is Jessica Erin from Stuck on Sweet! It’s so nice to meet you. I am super excited to be a part of Handmade Holidays: Bake, Craft & Sew – thank you Rachel!!
Homemade gifts are the way to go! It’s not only a fun way to use your creative side, but I find homemade gifts to be much more meaningful and in this case, delicious!
Hey, before I forget, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are enjoying the holiday with your family and friends and stuffing your faces with yummy food! 😉
I am sharing a recipe for candied pecans with you. I actually received candied pecans as a gift myself and I absolutely loved them… and couldn’t stop eating them. 😉 They are super simple and last up to three weeks in an airtight container…win win!
I went to Michael’s and bought this cute ribbon (love the checkered look!) and storage bags to “wrap” them in, but there are so many other ways you can “wrap” this gift.
Michael’s has tons of cute, inexpensive boxes, baggies, buckets, and so much more to play around with.
Ok so how do we make this? It’s simple – mix sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne (optional) and salt in a bowl. Mix egg whites and water in another bowl and then add the pecans, mix them around a bit and then add the sugar mixture and mix them a bit more.
They will look like this! Shiny and covered in deliciousness.
Now you will bake them, mixing them every 15 minutes and then let them cool…
And there you have it! Candied Pecans – they are crispy and sweet and taste like the holidays. Truly the perfect gift.
Enjoy!
Remember you can eat these everyday for three weeks…THREE WEEKS!
